Grandparent Classes

Grandparents - Have Class!

A free and fun way for new and experienced grandparents to hear the latest information on baby care.

When it comes to newborn care, much has changed in the last two to three decades. This class will give all grandparents the opportunity to talk with trained professionals about birthing and parenting changes through the generations.

Many infant care guidelines have changed. Pediatricians now tell parents to lay their infant on their backs to avoid Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Another change grandparents might be unaware of is no more baby powder when diapering – inhaling baby powder can lead to respiratory problems.

Topics covered will include: baby care and infant feeding, swaddling an infant, safety concerns, and ideas for how to share in the family experience and enhance intergenerational bonding.
